FEES
- I charge by the hour, unless
otherwise negotiated. As I am just starting out, I am
offering my proofreading service at 50% reduced fees
to my first five clients - with the condition that the
material does not exceed 5,000 words. Following this,
my hourly fee is £12.50, which is well below the minimum
rate of £19.25 as suggested by the Society for Editors
and Proofreaders (SfEP).

SERVICES
My services (in British or American English) are available for any of the following types of material:
- published works (e.g. books, journals, magazines)
- marketing and promotions (e.g. advertising copy, catalogues, leaflets)
- websites (including operational checks)
- presentations, reports, CVs, business plans
- theses/dissertations, essays, letters
I look for errors in, or problems with, any of the following:
- grammar and spelling
- punctuation
- typographics (appearance/layout)
- structure and organisation
- inconsistencies
- illogicalities
I offer on-screen or hard copy proofreading, using tracked changes (in Microsoft Word), standard proofreading symbols (2005 BSI) or plain English. See my website for examples.
